Bixby, 64GB of base storage, iris reader and an enhanced front camera are some of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and here we will talk about the most important ones in this post.

Bixby

Samsung’s new virtual assistant lets you control the interface of your cell phone or do the tasks you would usually do on the touch screen. You can recognize the objects to give you more information as well.

Screen and Design

The Samsung Galaxy S8 not only has curved display, but its beautiful Super AMOLED screen almost has no borders or bezels. In addition, it integrates a symmetrical design that makes it feel very good in the hand and help our fingers not block the screen by mistake, nor activate the functions without wanting.

There is no flat-screen version of the Galaxy S8.

Unlike the S7 and S6, the new Galaxy S8 has a curved display, so there is no flat version and this is why there was not a Galaxy S8 Edge as some expected.

Goodbye to Capacitive and Physical Buttons on the Front

The capacitive and the physical buttons have been present since the first Galaxy S, but with the arrival of Galaxy S8, the company has said goodbye to them. On this occasion, the company has integrated the virtual buttons through on-screen software to allow the area of the start button to detect the pressure so you can turn on the screen as you would if you had a virtual button.

Footprint Reader on the Back

The lack of this physical button on the front panel led to Samsung having to reposition the fingerprint reader and now it has been placed in the back.

Easy Recognition and Iris Reader

Although this fingerprint positioning is not the best for the reason that it is next to the camera, Samsung integrated the same iris reader of Galaxy Note 7 to unlock the cell or access accounts with greater security. In addition, Samsung included facial recognition to unlock the cell phone when the user does not want to use the fingerprint reader.

USB-C

Samsung says goodbye to the traditional microSD port to integrate the new USB-C and this is really a good change. This connector is not only reversible for easy connection, but it also has the potential to transmit data and electricity more quickly. Moreover, it allows to charge a cell phone with another.
