Mario
Mario is a fictional character designed by the Japanese develop Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo company. From his appearance in video games, movies and television series, he has become an icon of the same, becoming one of the most famous characters in the video game industry.
Originally, it was baptized with the name of Jumpman, and appeared for the first time in the video game Donkey Kong and later his name was changed to Mario.
His first appearance was in an arcade game, titled Donkey Kong in 1981. His participation was under the original name of Jumpman, whose mission was to liberate a woman named Pauline. The plot described the abduction of the same by an ape called Donkey Kong. The game consisted of transferring to Jumpman to ascend through different levels and to arrive at the site where Pauline was. Since then, the character of Mario has continued to entertain us.
Luigi
It is a character in the Super Mario saga and stands out for his green shirt and cap, instead of the red of his brother Mario, Luigi has a purple denim jumpsuit. To differentiate the two, Mario has it of blue color.
Luigi is Mario’s younger brother in Nintendo’s video games. He first appeared in the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros. and then in Super Mario Bros. As a second player, he continued to play in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. Luigi’s name was inspired by the pizza restaurant near the headquarters of Nintendo of America in Redmond Washington, which was called ‘Mario & Luigi.
Due to the limitations of the software in that time, Luigi started with a design that was the same as Mario but with a different color palette. With improvement in technology, the character changed physically, i.e., it got taller and leaner than his brother.
Luigi’s personality also developed and is said to be daring with a tendency to always remain behind his brother, but he is still able to overcome his fears to help his loved ones whenever they need him. For various reasons, he is always able to run faster and jump higher than his brother.
Princess Peach
It is a character in the saga of Super Mario Bros. for Nintendo consoles. Her main role in the games is to be the damsel in distress that must be saved by Mario from the clutches of the evil Bowser. Her first appearance was in 1985 in Super Mario Bros. a game from which she has always been kidnapped except in Super Mario Bros. 2.
Peach is known as the ‘damsel in distress’ that must be rescued by Mario. She is sweet as a peach, hence, the name Peach. She has a lot of Toads at her service, and deep down she always finds herself being the ‘damsel in distress’. Her favorite color is pink and she usually wears a dress of that color.
In Japan the name of the princess has always been Peach, but when Super Mario Bros. was released in America, it was renamed as ‘Princess Toadstool or Princess Mushroom because they thought that it fit more with the Mushroom Kingdom. The first time she appeared under the name of ‘Peach’ in the American market, it was in the game Yoshi’s Safari, consolidating it later as her real name in Super Mario 64.
Mario and Luigi and Princess Peach have always been the center of attention and they continue to be so.
