Music therapy
Music therapy is an artistic form of therapy in which music is used specifically to restore, promote and maintain mental health and well-being. The music can enable non-verbal access to oneself and one’s own emotions. This can be achieved through active music making or through listening. Group or individual therapy is about experiencing sounds, rhythms and melodies, working through them therapeutically and sharing what you have experienced.
No prior musical knowledge is required. Sound therapy is a part of music therapy. The sound is used in a targeted manner to direct the gaze inwards and to hide external stimuli. The sound waves generated by the sound cause the body cells to vibrate. This in turn can have a healing and ordering effect, so that the body can enter into deep relaxation. Another offer is the rhythm group. This is about that in a structured setting with the help of drums and various rhythm exercises experiencing and discovering rhythm, activation and concentration support.
Art therapy
“I can’t paint” – this is how many patients who are in art therapy for the first time react. Art therapy has nothing to do with “ability”. No previous knowledge or special talents are required, just your willingness to engage in new creative experiences. We humans think and dream in pictures. There are inner images that cause fear and are therefore emotionally repelled – and there are inner images from which courage and confidence grow. Both are given space in the art-focused therapy. They try out various artistic materials and techniques that enable creative expression of their own thoughts, feelings and experiences. By changing and evolving images, you activate creative resources never known before.
In the therapeutic conversation we look together for connections between the painted picture and the corresponding impressions and feelings. This makes creative problem solving possible – first on paper, then in life. The art therapy grief group is a special offer of art therapy. Through the colorful expression of feelings of grief, an individual grief process is stimulated and therapeutically accompanied in the protected setting of the small group.
