One of my favorite scenarios for giving a month of use to Xiaomi Mi 6 was to have it in the environments and social situations where I have got to visit when I am performing the initial and complete review.
After the first walks in the middle of an informal dinner with friends, ‘it does not look like a Chinese phone’ was the most repeated phrase I heard. My attempt to explain to you that many phones you carry which come from China do not work, so I am staying for this review after a month of use with the idea that Xiaomi Mi 6 does not look like a cheap phone either by finishing or material. In addition, despite its resemblance to the iPhone, in the month of use, the truth is that no one has confused or said what it looks like. But in black piano finish, it draws much attention.
The key to that feeling of more quality is in the use of glass. It is nice to play but at least in the black version we have, despite being the most elegant, it is quite dirty. If you do not want to obsess about it, it is better to choose another color and leave the black aside, though people appreciate the high level of finish and quality feeling of the Xiaomi Mi 6 in black.
The curve of the sides and not protruding camera makes Xiaomi Mi 6 not only slippery in the hand, but on the table as well. The vibration will cause something to move, so be careful if you want to avoid the scares because the adoption of glass as material makes it a more fragile model. I have not had any scare, because it is true that I am of those who usually care and pamper the phones quite well.
All this month of use, I have not removed the initial idea that with its size, thickness and weight of almost 170 grams, it is a heavy device. In my test of long duration, I have alternated it without cover with weeks included in the package. Logically the grip improves a lot with the silicone case, but the design loses almost all its appeal while the cover does not stay very neat either and accumulates the dirt.
Of the resistance to water, which is only splashing, I cannot talk much about this aspect as I did not experience any accident of falling my Xiaomi Mi 6 in water at any point. So I am not sure in in summer, you can take it to the pool without fear, and handle it with wet hands to take pictures more carelessly. Well, to check water resistance, I will leave it to your experience.
