No Front Buttons
It is a good step by Samsung to keep the front clean with no buttons on the front of Samsung S8 Plus, and it is something that we can expect to see on many phones in the coming years. The physical buttons have disappeared and we do not miss them in truth.
Now we have the on-screen customizable navigation buttons that we find in a multitude of Android phones, with the particularity that there is a pressure sensor in the central area.
Fingerprint Sensor
The fingerprint sensor goes to the back, much controversial with its location. We have microSD card slot and in the package comes a pair of adapters to play with microUSB and USB-Type C.
The button and sensor have been put it in the back. The debatable point is not the back position, but it is that it is small and is very high and right next to the camera. The fingerprint sensor recognizes gestures. If you do not like the fingerprint sensor, there are two alternatives that cannot work at once.
1 – The Iris Sensor
It was premiered in Note 7 and seems to be the most reliable of the methods. The scanner works fast when we get used to playing with the correct distance, even when there is little light as it strips infrared. But do not use it in full sun, it will not work well when you need your eyes to be wide open.
2 – Facial Recognition
This option is new, and simpler as it works with the front camera, which limits us greatly in darkness. In good condition, it shows quite fast, but it is easy to fool with a simple photograph.
Two Wireless Headsets at a Time
Entering on connectivity issues, we see that Samsung here has no gaps. The most striking is the support of Bluetooth 5. It boasts greater range, speed and the ability to connect two wireless headsets at a time.
The connectivity on the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, regardless of whether its chipset is Exynos or Snapdragon, it will be hard to beat LTE Cat 16, Wi-Fi dual band or the aforementioned Bluetooth 5. The evolution in design is great and it shows, in internal hardware also exists, but you may not notice it so much.
If we had to imagine the perfect smartphone for 2017, it would look something like Galaxy S8 Plus. It has the most impressive screen on the market, accompanied by a great camera and there is a great improvement in design. Aesthetically it is the most desirable smartphone on the market.
