Sony Computer Entertainment made its PlayStation the most successful console in the fifth generation, thanks in part to the CD-ROM support that had so little success on other consoles like the Neo Geo CD or Mega CD. Here I share with you a list of the popular games which you can enjoy on your PlayStation.
1 – Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (Naughty Dog, 2002)
The third installment of the Crash Bandicoot saga is considered by many to be the best game. Critically acclaimed, it was also a hit with more than five and a half million copies sold since its launch on PlayStation in July 2002. Later, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped was also available for download on PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3 through PlayStation Network. The adventure narrated how Crash and Coco Bandicoot traveled through time with complicated mission to collect all crystals which normally were at the end of each level; there were 25 crystals in all.
Naughty Dog developed new technology in the graphics engine for the creation of this game which allowed remarkable improvement in textures with respect to previous deliveries and greater depth in scenarios. In addition, new motors for game mechanics were devised to facilitate experience with regard to the levels in which the players had to fly light aircraft or jet skis.
2 – FIFA 98 (EA Sports, 1997)
It is considered one of the most important deliveries of FIFA, since in addition to a new graphic engine, FIFA 98 also included for the first time tactical options, official soundtrack, real stadiums and new leagues. Another feature is the inclusion of ‘Rumbo to the World’ game, which allowed to pass qualifying phase and play the World Cup with any of the selections recognized by FIFA at that time.
The game went on sale in seven different platforms between 1997 and 1998, and it was the third edition with 3D graphics of the fifth generation of consoles. In this game, the players could enjoy 11 national leagues and play in the real stadiums, since previously the fields of FIFA were fictitious. It was also a pioneer in introducing real songs for its soundtrack.
3– Driver 2 (Infogrames, 2000)
It went on sale in PlayStation during 2000. The game improved notably the graphics of the first installment and maintained the possibility of visiting four different cities, but in this case the level of detail was greater and the game made the most of the power of PlayStation. The variety of vehicles was also much greater. Missions were improved with respect to the first delivery and did not always begin in free floor of personage as already happened in Driver, but here the missions could begin at any point of the city.
The story was taken care of in detail, and its creators wanted the players to feel inside the plot. So, the adventure revolves around Tranner and his partner Jones, who are in the midst of a mafia war. To solve the intricate plot, Tranner must pass through different cities such as Havana, Las Vegas or Rio de Janeiro and put an end to the criminal organizations confronted.
